Shamrock Mission

The Vermont Shamrocks bring together some of the most competitive hockey players from all across Vermont and neighboring states.  The goal is to provide a high level of hockey while promoting participation at the local level.  The emphasis is on skill development and teamwork by fostering a spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth.   We create a fun environment which focuses on important values such as sportsmanship, friendship, and love of the game.  The lesson at the end of the day is that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose.

'Rocks Take Silver in the USA Hockey National Championships

16AA Vermont Shamrocks Take Home Silver

The 16U Shamrocks defeated the top two teams in Massachusetts including the Massachusetts State Champion East Coast Wizards to advance to the 16UAA National Championship game. On April 9th the Shamrocks played the Connecticut State Champion Shoreline Sharks for the national title in Marlborough, MA. A late goal for the Sharks helped the Connecticut team earn this year's National title by a score of 1-0.

The 16AA ‘Rocks won the New England Championship and represented Vermont and New England well in the National Championship Tournament. The team went undefeated in New Englands and won their first five games at Nationals. The tough Vermonters defeated State Champions from vs. Alaska (6-0), Wisconsin (6-2) and Pennslyvania (6-0). They went on to the quarterfinals where they defeated a tough Middlesex (MA) Islanders group 2-1 and then knocked out the #1 ranked team in Massachusetts and the nation when they downed the East Coast Wizards 3-2 in overtime. Luck ran out for the 16UAAs for the second year in a row, but everyone involved remains proud of their efforts and their silver medal.

Shamrocks are 16UAA New England Champs!

All smiles after a 4-2 win over CT!

Shamrocks return to USA Hockey National Championships!

Congratulations to the VT Shamrocks 16UAA team for winning the New England Championships with a 4-2 win over the Shoreline (CT) Sharks.  The win capped off an amazing run at the New England Regional Championship Tournament in Auburn Maine. The Rocks defeated a tough Casco Bay Maine team in the semifinals to advance to the 16UAA finals v. Shoreline CT.

The team rode their trademark stingy defense and solid goaltending outscoring opponents 14-0 in the round robin. Stay tuned for more information about their trip to the USA Hockey Nationals April 5-9.

The Vermont Shamrocks are one of USA Hockey's most successful Tier II associations. The 'Rocks won National titles in  2013 (16UAA) and 2016 (19UAA) and earned a silver medal in 2017 and a bronze in 2015 (16UAA).
