Shamrock Mission

The Vermont Shamrocks bring together some of the most competitive hockey players from all across Vermont and neighboring states.  The goal is to provide a high level of hockey while promoting participation at the local level.  The emphasis is on skill development and teamwork by fostering a spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth.   We create a fun environment which focuses on important values such as sportsmanship, friendship, and love of the game.  The lesson at the end of the day is that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose.

Help Support 'Rocks 16UAA Trip to Nationals

In their own version of March Madness, the Vermont Shamrocks Tier II 16U girl’s hockey team won the New England District Championship on St. Patrick’s Day weekend for the second year in a row. This win has earned the girls a trip to the USA Hockey National Tournament April 4th thru April 9th in Marlborough, Massachusetts to represent the District of New England and the State of Vermont!

This year’s team of talented student-athletes represent 5 VT High Schools (BFA-St Albans, Colchester, Essex, Mount Mansfield Union and Stowe), 2 NY High Schools (Potsdam and Parishville-Hopkinton) Hanover High School in NH, as well as Kimball Union Academy and the North American Hockey Academy. These girls have worked extremely hard and have shown tremendous dedication to get to this point.

As you can imagine we are extremely excited and proud of our girls, but this trip comes with expense. Having only 16 days between events, even with the girls breaking in to their own piggy banks, they need additional financial support to defray costs for this amazing opportunity.  We are reaching out to our supportive families and businesses and the communities of our players to help achieve our goal. All funds raised will go towards team expenses for the tournament, including tournament entry fees, food, and travel expenses.

Please consider a sponsorship to help these girls fulfill their dream of winning a National Championship.

All smiles after a 4-2 win over CT!

Shamrocks return to USA Hockey National Championships!

Congratulations to the VT Shamrocks 16UAA team for winning the New England Championships with a 4-2 win over the Shoreline (CT) Sharks.  The win capped off an amazing run at the New England Regional Championship Tournament in Auburn Maine. The Rocks defeated a tough Casco Bay Maine team in the semifinals to advance to the 16UAA finals v. Shoreline CT.

The team rode their trademark stingy defense and solid goaltending outscoring opponents 14-0 in the round robin. Stay tuned for more information about their trip to the USA Hockey Nationals April 5-9.

The Vermont Shamrocks are one of USA Hockey's most successful Tier II associations. The 'Rocks won National titles in  2013 (16UAA) and 2016 (19UAA) and earned a silver medal in 2017 and a bronze in 2015 (16UAA).

The Shamrocks were formed in 2008 to provide access to high level USA Hockey events and tournaments for local association and HS Vermonters.
